Another biased quiz

You scored as Roman Catholic. You are Roman Catholic. Church tradition and ecclesial authority are hugely important, and the most important part of worship for you is mass. As the Mother of God, Mary is important in your theology, and as the communion of saints includes the living and the dead, you can also ask the saints to intercede for you.

Horrible Western bias -- no room for Orthodox, Zionists, black theology, liberation theology, or any other kinds of less Western theological views.

Biased Quiz

I admit until I scrolled down and saw
your comment that I was take aback.
You mention the liberationists, and
I wondered what your educated opinion
of that theology is.

Strictly speaking liberation theology is a variety of Western theology, but in a quiz on What's your theological worldview? there should surely be a place for it, as well as for some of the others.

If you wanted my own personal critique of liberation theology, well I wrote and article on it some years go, and perhaps I ought to put iot on a web page some time.

Re: Biased Quiz

I hope you do. I would very much like
to read your wisdom about this theology.
In the twilight of my life, epiphanies
abound and maybe before I depart this
earth, I can come to peace, knowing
I am responding to God's call in the
'right' place.

I am not surprised we both scored holiness/Wesleyan in the second place. I suspect that's about as close as you can come to some aspects of Orthodox theology without being called "Orthodox" (not that there aren't a lot of diffs, too).

Same top three ...

I wonder if that would be similar for other Orthodox?

There are some that I have no idea how to interpret -- "Classical liberal" and "Modern liberal", for example.

It's either bias or ignorance, considering how Orthodoxy calls itself the best-kept secret in America. The quiz writer probably doesn't even know what Orthodoxy is, other than maybe it's just a Catholic church with onion domes on top or something.

Probably a bit of both.

Ignorance of a wider range of theological options, and bias against any that are not close to the author's own cultural milieu.

Who is the neo othodox?

The "neo-orthodox" are Protestant Calivinists who follow people like Karl Barth. Some of the things that they say are similar to what some Orthodox theologians say, but their understanding of them is somewhat different.

Not so much "Western" as "American".

It's not just the Orthodox who are missing. What about the Anglicans?

Do Anglicans have a distinctive theological worldview?

I thought they did an eclectic mix 'n match, picking whichever bits of the others they fancied.

Here's another similar biased one. LUTHERAN???

You scored as Luther. You are Martin Luther. You'll stick with the words of Scripture, and defend this with earthy expressions. You believe in an orthodox Christology. You believe that the bread and wine are the Body and Blood of Christ, but aren't too sure about where he goes after the meal, and so you don't accept reservation of the Blessed Sacrament or Eucharistic devotions.

I found it annoying.
